On Thursday afternoon, the boys’ basketball team will face off against Port Jeff in the semifinals of the Suffolk County Class C Tournament. Here is what you need to know for the match-up.

- This is the 17th straight playoff appearance for the boys’ basketball team, the second-longest current streak in Suffolk County behind Amityville’s run of 36.
- The winner of Thursday’s match-up will play the winner of #1 Greenport vs. #4 Pierson in the Class C Final on Sunday, February 19 at Suffolk CCC–Selden at 5:00pm.
- The Bears have earned a place in the Class C Final in nine out of the last 10 years, winning in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016. They have won the last four titles, the longest streak in the history of Class C.
- The Bears have won their last six match-ups vs. Port Jeff including a 54-44 win on December 15. The Bears are 14-8 vs. the Royals under coach Mike Hickey.
