Last Thursday afternoon, the girls’ basketball team topped Smithtown Christian, 43-13, to sweep the season series with the Knights. The Bears also beat the Knights 43-19 on December 13.

The Brook held a 6-3 lead after the first quarter, behind scores from Beth Felix, Jessica Nwachukwu, and Meghan Hutzler. In the second frame, the girls took control of the game with a 14-0 quarter, thanks to nine points from Felix, to take a 20-3 advantage into the break.

The Knights continued to battle in a 7-7 third quarter, but the Blue and White turned in a dominant 16-4 fourth quarter to close the game.

Felix finished with a game-high 23 points, while Sam Petersen (9 points), Nwachukwu (4), Hutzler (3), Wura Obasanjo (3), and Rochelle Vassell (1) rounded out the scoring.
