Laura, just a freshman at the time, dropped 20 seconds off of her previous best mark to come through the line in 10:39.8. Despite being edged by a senior from Huntington, the finish closed a remarkable year for Laura after she won a second consecutive State Cross Country Championship in the fall, her second of four cross country titles.
