On this day 10 years ago, the girls’ basketball team won an overtime thriller over Mercy.
With time waning and the Bears trailing by two, Kristyn Dunleavy scored with just 1.2 seconds left to send the game into overtime, knotted at 42-42. In the extra period the Bear defense held Mercy to just two points, but the Blue and White offense struggled to put points on the board as well. Sadie Singer scored on a layup to put the Brook up 45-44 with one minute left, a lead they would not relinquish in a 48-44 win that helped the Brook improve to 5-0.
The girls would go on to finish the season as undefeated League Champions.
