On this day 78 years ago, the basketball team topped Central Huntington in overtime, 38-34.

The Blue and White, perhaps overconfident after defeating Central Huntington 50-18 earlier in the season, found themselves down by two in the final moments of the rematch. A pair of free throws from John Conforte saved the Brook from defeat and sent the game into overtime.

In the extra period, baskets from Walter Whitmyre and Hank Neber gave the Brookers a lead they would not relinquish. Whitmyre and Conforte led the team with 13 points each.
