The 1922-23 basketball squad

On this day 93 years ago, the basketball team won the first away game in program history in a 36-33 victory at Smithtown.

For some reason, the second team started the game for the Brook and trailed 13-9 at the half. Coach Clyde Mellinger inserted the starters for the second half and watched as his boys came back and closed out a victory. Tom Kittredge and John Sloat led the way with three field goals each.
