The wrestling team began the season this afternoon with a dominant, 63-24 win over visiting Southampton.
The Bears benefitted from eight forfeit victories in the 99, 106, 113, 132, 138, 145, 170, and 195-pound weight classes while giving up only two forfeits in weight classes they could not fill.
The team was further paced by Kyle Broomes’ 11-10 victory at 152 lbs, Jake Tutuska’s pin in 2:29 at 160 lbs, and Tom Hull’s pin in 5:06 at 182 lbs.
The Bears return to competition at Port Jefferson on Jan. 8.
