On this day three years ago, Karina Scavo ’09 had a goal and an assist in Gordon College’s 2-0 victory over the University of Southern Maine.
Scavo helped the Fighting Scots get on the board early when she fed teammate Caitlin Nedde for a goal just 11:08 into the match. The Scots were still clinging to a narrow one-goal margin when Scavo sealed the game with an 84th minute goal to cap the season-opening win.
Scavo would lead the Scots to a 17-3 record that season and a berth in the Conference Championship while earning her third straight 1st Team All-Conference honor.
