Today was day 13 of the University of Miami’s preseason football camp, and position battles are heating up.

Jerome Washington ’12 has impressed his teammates despite his inexperience. After this morning’s practice, fellow tight end Standish Dobard discussed the overall strength of the Hurricanes’ tight end corps:

“I’m known as the physical tight end. Chris [Herndon] is fast and [David] Njoku can jump high... Jerome [Washington] brings to the table the same thing that I do. He’s big, fast, and he can block really [well].”

The Hurricanes open the season at home on September 5 vs. Bethune-Cookman University.
