On this day 14 years ago, Caitlin Banks ’00 was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year in women’s lacrosse.

The former Bear was the highest scoring freshman in the ACC (21 goals/ 11 assists) and her 32 points placed her eight all-time at Virginia in points for a first-year player.

Banks would finish her career with the Cavaliers in 2004 as an All-American and National Champion.
