On this day 47 years ago, Glenn Ogden ’65 ran the third-best 3 mile time in University of Missouri history in a dual meet versus the University of Kansas. His time of 13:42.8 stands to this day as one of the best individual runs in Tiger history.
Ogden would go on to win the Conference Championship that year in the 5,000 yard run in a time of 14:15.3, his first of two consecutive crowns.
While at the Brook, Ogden was a star on the cross country and track teams. He was a member of three Ivy League Champion cross country teams and two Ivy League Champion track teams. His cross country squads routinely beat college freshman teams and he, along with teammate and fellow Stony Brook Hall of Famer, Pete Randall ’65, tied for 1st in the St. John’s college invitational in 1964. For his accomplishments he was inducted into the Stony Brook Hall of Fame in 1999.
