Yesterday afternoon, the baseball team met Port Jeff in their home opener on a gorgeous afternoon for baseball. After a vicious end to winter it was good to hear ball smacking leather once again. Eighth-grader Seamus Scanlon was impressive in relief of fellow eighth-grader, Josh Zhang, consistently painting the low outside corner for strikes. Ben Walter had a fine day at the plate and ran down a number of tough balls in center field. It’s good to have baseball back.
