On Saturday, Shane Kelly ’10 and the Malone Rugby Football Club fell to Garryowen, 34-12.

In the loss Kelly made a brilliant play to give Malone an early 6-0 lead when he scooped up a loose ball and raced upfield to score the first try of the game in the 20th minute.

Kelly is one of three former Bears currently playing professional sports overseas. Danielle Spiliotis ’09 and Rod Odom ’09 are both playing professional basketball in Greece.

Kelly and Malone will next take the field on April 4 against Belfast.
