In August, Danielle Spiliotis ’09, a former standout for the Bears, signed a contract to play professional basketball with Terpsithea Glyfadas, a club based in Athens, Greece. Her impact was immediate as she earned a spot in the starting lineup and became one of the team’s primary scoring threats.
After scoring 13 points over her first two games against Proteas and Athinaikos, she had a breakout performance on October 19 against Panathlitikos with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that up with 21 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, and 8 rebounds against Ippokratis on October 26. Her hot shooting continued in her next game as she connected on seven of her 13 shots for a team-high 22 points against PAOK on November 2. She has continued to be a primary threat for Terpsithea, scoring 16 against Panathlitikos on November 30 and Proteas on December 7.
She is currently second on the team in scoring and rebounds, averaging 12.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for a team that is currently in 6th place in Greece’s A-1 League.
Terpsithea takes the floor again on Sunday in a match-up with Ippokratis.
