Yesterday evening, Richie Armand ’12 saw in his first action of the season and gave Gordon College a lift off of the bench in a 67-55 victory over Worcester State University. After tearing his ACL last spring, the status of Armand’s season was uncertain, but his recovery went well enough for him to begin the second half of his junior season with the Fighting Scots, the reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference Champions. It was abundantly clear to anyone who had to guard him during pick-up games in Swanson Gymnasium over Christmas Break that Armand was back to his old self and ready to give a spark to the Scots.
In just six minutes of limited action, Armand was busy with 2 points, 2 rebounds, an assist, and a team-high 3 steals, helping Gordon hold the Lancers to just 28.8% shooting from the field.
Armand and the Scots return to action on January 6 against conference foe Western New England College.
