Well, it’s Thanksgiving, a wonderful time each year to take stock of our lives and reflect on our many blessings. Here are some of the things for which I am grateful this year:

• The camaraderie and work ethic of the girls’ tennis team.
• The resilience of the boys’ soccer team in their three-goal comebacks vs. Greenport & Port Jeff.
• The toughness of the girls’ soccer team in a three-goal comeback vs. Smithtown Christian.
• The pride and courage of the football team.
• The dedication of the boys’ cross country team.
• Streamer throws.
• The resilience the girls’ cross country team showed in the midst of injuries.
• The way the boys’ JV soccer team played together.
• Football’s win in the season opener and the bonfire afterwards.
• The love and care displayed by our coaches.
• The passion of the Blue Fan Group captains and all their selfless work.
• The way the golf team competed against the huge schools in their league.
• The leadership the football seniors provided.
• The volleyball team’s run to the playoffs.
• The commitment of our sailors to sacrifice nearly every weekend of the fall season.
• The return of basketball season and how it will make the winter more bearable.
• The hard work the wrestling team has already been putting in.
