Emily Carmel ’13 helped the Eastern University women’s basketball team improve to 3-1 with 16 points off the bench in a 92-67 win over SUNY Old Westbury.
Carmel drained four 3-pointers, including one that sparked a 15-0 run that helped the Eagles overcome an early five-point deficit. After four away games to start the year, Carmel and Eastern will finally make their home debut on Tuesday against Keystone College.
While at the Brook, Carmel was part of the defensive core that led the girls’ soccer team to the New York State Championship in 2009. That winter, her long-range shooting helped the basketball team clinch a second consecutive Long Island Championship.
