The excitement has yet to die down from Jerome Washington’s ’12 commitment to the University of Miami yesterday.
This morning the official athletics blog for the Hurricanes called our athletic office to learn more about Jerome. Here is what Cameron J. Underwood of State of the U had to say about him.
Gattica JUCO (NJ) TE Jerome Washington also committed to Miami. Washington is another big athlete, standing 6' 5" 255 lbs. Washington is a late bloomer, who went to JUCO after not having the options he would have liked coming out of High School. And, after the decommitment of Bowman Archibald six weeks ago, Washington is the only player we have committed at Tight End in this class.Washington chose Miami over Alabama, Nebraska, Washington, and Rutgers. I know some will say that this is just Al Golden continuing his NJ pipeline, but Washington is more than just a location-based pickup. He has great size and projectable skills. And, he comes in with four years to play four, so he's more valuable than your typical JUCO transfer. Win-win situation in my eyes.WELCOME TO THE U, JEROME!
