On this day 26 years ago, the boys’ soccer team topped eventual League VII Champion, Mattituck, 2-1.

After a rough start to the season, the boys closed with three straight victories over Riverhead (3-1), Mattituck, and Portledge (4-1). Led by captains Scott Krentel and Mike White and a collection of seniors including Mark Ryan, Dave Kang, Chris Williams, Yebabe Mengesha, Scott Geurkink, Paul Berzins, and Eric Steckel, the team was able to earn the program’s second victory over the Tuckers and the first since 1983.
