On this day six years ago, the girls’ cross country team defeated Port Jefferson, 18-49, to win the League Championship. It was their twelfth straight dual meet victory, giving them back-to-back undefeated league titles. They were led by All-League runners Alexis Fernandez and Alex Russo. Elizabeth Anderson provided steady, positive leadership for the team.
