On this day 13 years ago, the boys’ soccer team improved to 8-0-1 with a 4-0 victory over Greenport.

Incredibly, through nine games the Bears had outscored their opponents 30-1, including a 7-0 victory over the Ross School and a 9-0 victory over Smithtown Christian. The indomitable defense was anchored by League VIII MVP Jon Hicks and Ian Schlessinger, while Joe Rulli was a bulwark in goal. Through the first nine games Brandon Koupal spearheaded the offense with 13 goals.

The Bears would finished the season undefeated in the league at 8-0-2 and earn the third League Championship in program history.
