On this day 34 years ago, the field hockey team used three second half goals to power past Hewlett, 3-0. Three Dianes provided the scoring as Diane Vincente, Diane Fonseca, and Diane Norris each found the net for the Shrikes.
This year's field hockey team was characterized by the determination of a group of young women. What really made the team this year was the large turnout of girls and the enthusiasm with which they played the game. A lot of hard work was done in practice, and it was reflected in the improvement of play in every aspect of their game. With new players, positions, and style of play, the girls became more aggressive and displayed a great desire to win.~ Res Gestae 1981
