
Yesterday, as the warmth of Indian Summer blanketed Long Island, the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams ran in the Suffolk Coaches Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park.
Miranda Harrigan was the top finisher for the Brook yesterday, taking 15th place in the Varsity B race in 22:20, a clip 44 seconds faster than her time on the same course just last week. Her time was third-best among freshmen in her race and among the top 20 freshman overall, including those in the Varsity A race.
She was followed by teammates Anna Brummeler (58th/25:39), Cianka Haynes (67th/26:31), Nicole Gray (70th/26:55), Lely Garner (80th/28:40), Alma Rojas (86th/31:29), and Kelly Yu (89th/32:17).
Jake Brummeler was the top finisher on the boys’ side, coming through the chute in 46th place in a time of 19:12, 1:46 quicker than last week’s time. Teammates Luis Irias (97th/20:53), John Desan (127th/22:24), Matt Wong (129th/22:26), and Nicholas Davis (165th/26:40) followed.
