Just three days after the Stony Brook and Port Jeff boy’s soccer teams combined for eleven goals in a 6-5 Bear victory, the squads produced a collective one tally yesterday afternoon in a 1-0 victory for the Brook, their first sweep over the Royals in recent memory.
The lone score was provided by senior captain Josh Agyei-Gyamfi who tucked away a one-on-one with the keeper after receiving a beautiful ball over the top from Inpyo Ma. Mac Bohuny and Aaron Jobst anchored the defense, helping David Choi record his first shutout of the season.
With the victory the boys need just two wins over their final six games to earn their first playoff berth since 2010.
