On this day six years ago, the football team won a nail-biter over Center Moriches under the Buyers’ Park lights.

The atmosphere was electric after a pep rally at assembly and a football-themed dinner in Johnston Hall primed the students for the game. The Red Devils had plans to dampen the mood, leading 6-0 late in the second half, but in the play of the game, quarterback Cory Gilbert found Alec Munsey on fourth down for a 15-yard strike that knotted the game.

The Bear defense held firm, giving the Brook the ball back late in the fourth quarter. The winning margin was provided by the foot of Brian Harrington who struck a 30-yard field goal with four minutes, giving the Bears a 9-6 victory.
