On this day five years ago, the girls’ soccer team took down Southampton, 3-0. Donna Liotine scored two goals, one on a ridiculous volley off of a corner kick, while Gianna Scavo added the other tally. Danielle Pappas was a wall between the posts, making eight saves for the shutout victory.
The girls would go on to win the 2009 Class C State Championhip, taking down undefeated Sauquoit Valley, 2-1, in the final.
