The girls’ tennis team started their season the right way yesterday, shutting out Comsewogue, 7-0, in their opening match. The ladies dominated the courts and didn’t drop a single set to the Warriors.
Akari Yoshida (6-0, 6-2), Sadhana Sridhar (6-2, 6-4), Nancy Lin (6-1, 6-2), and Olivia Braat (6-2, 6-0) each won their singles matches while the doubles combos of Ha Min Cho/Angela Wong (6-3, 6-0), Julia Braat/Julie Wu (6-2, 6-1), and Brianna Holochuck/Gracie Xie (6-1, 6-4) completed the sweep of the Warriors.
Head coach Jennifer Crane took the time to comment on her team’s victory:
I could tell from our warm-up that all 13 players were ready for a "W." They won this match before they ever stepped out. Everyone came out of the last two weeks of practice sharp, honed, and ready to fight. It was fun to watch us dominate on every court against a very solid team.
