Despite rapidly changing conditions, including wind and rain, Wes Woodley ’11 and the North Park University men’s soccer team stayed undefeated in a 4-1 victory over Saint Mary’s University. Late in the second half the Vikings held a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 lead, but after a Saint Mary’s goal in the 80th minute the momentum appeared to shift. The Cardinals attacked for the following three minutes and had several opportunities to shave the deficit to one goal, but Woodley single-handedly stopped the rally with two brilliant saves, a pair of his five stops on the day.
Woodley and the Vikings are back in action on September 6 vs. Saint John’s University.
