For the second straight season, Kara Lee ’11 has been named co-captain of the Harvard University women’s fencing team. Here is Harvard’s press release.
Harvard women’s fencing head coach Peter Brand has announced junior Aliya Itzkowitz and senior Kara Lee were nominated as captains for the 2014-15 season.
A sabre fencer, Lee has been named a co-captain for the second consecutive year. Earning All-Ivy 2nd Team honors last season, Lee finished sixth at the NCAA Northeast Regional after going 13-10 with a plus-21 indicator. Lee posted double-digit victory totals at the Tradition Tournament (11), St. John’s Invitational (10), and Ivy League Round Robins (14) as well. Like her teammate [Itzkowitz], Lee went 5-1 at the Beanpot to help the Crimson win the event for the seventh consecutive time.
Harvard opens the season at home against Tufts on December 5, with the event commencing at 6:00pm.
