Yesterday afternoon, the Gordon College women’s soccer team fell in a double-overtime heartbreaker, 1-2, to the University of New England. Karina Scavo ’09 played brilliantly against her former squad, but her heroics were not enough to calm the Nor’easters. Trailing 0-1 in the 58th minute, Scavo scored the equalizer, her fifth goal of the season, before the Scots eventually fell five minutes into the second overtime. Her five goals on the year leads the team and places her at #8 on the Commonwealth Coast Conference leaderboard.
