Karina Scavo ’09 was the offensive catalyst for the Gordon College women’s soccer team as they improved to 2-1 overall yesterday in a 3-0 victory over Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The Fighting Scots got on the board early when Scavo assisted teammate Caitlin Nedde on a corner kick in the 13th minute for a 1-0 edge. With Gordon already leading 2-0, Scavo helped put the game away five minutes into the second half on a through ball to Rachael Bailey for the third and final goal.

Scavo and the Scots will begin conference play in their next match at Nichols College on September 10.
