As Stony Brook’s fall season rapidly approaches, it will be odd not to see Wes Woodley ’11 between the posts of the soccer goal. For three seasons he was a mainstay for the team, leading them to the County Semifinals last season while recording seven shutouts. His accomplishments while netminding for the Bears speak for themselves: All-State, All-County, two-time All-Conference, 18 saves in a single game, 2010 League VIII Most Valuable Player.
Now Woodley will trade in his blue and white colors and don blue and red for the St. Francis College Terriers. He is one of three goalkeepers on the team, but his toughness and competitive drive will surely help him carve out a niche on his new squad.
St. Francis has three netminders on the roster this season. The most tenured is junior Liam Burton. New to the fold are junior Tyler Clarhaut and freshman Wesley Woodley. Each bring a different dynamic between the pipes.~ St. Francis 2011 Season Preview
