A New Season Looms for Scavo & the Scots

Scavo will once again catalyze the Scots’ offensive attack

At this time last fall, Karina Scavo ’09 stepped onto the campus of Gordon College as a transfer from the University of New England. It did not take long for her to carve out a place in the Fighting Scots’ attack. She led the team in assists (8) and was second in points (24), goals (8), and game-winning goals (2). She also was ranked among the top ten in the entire Commonwealth Coast Conference in four offensive categories, including first in assists.

Her exploits not only helped lead the Scots to a berth in the conference quarterfinals, but earned her a 1st Team All-Conference nod as well. As the 2011 season rapidly approaches, Gordon will rely heavily on the junior in their hopes of capturing the CCC title.

Roaming the front line will be last year's team scoring leaders, juniors Caitlin Nedde (Colchester, Vt.) and Karina Scavo (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), who earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Second Team and First Team nods, respectively, last season.
