On Saturday May 7, the boys 4×100 meter relay team of Khoren Lawson, Jon Wentling, Andrew White, and Taylor Colucci, currently ranked #1 in New York State’s Class C, set the school record in 43.07 at the St. Anthony’s Invitational. The former record was held by the 2007 team comprised of Mike Cox, Jon Bute, Terrance Anderson, and Pete Carmel, all seniors, that ran a 43.34 in the New York State Championship to finish in 2nd place. Mike Cox was gracious enough to congratulate the new record holders:
Records are set to be broken and these kids are true track athletes with these times. On behalf of the '07 team, congratulations on not only beating our record, but also being number one in the State for Class C, and representing Stony Brook how it should be represented.
We all remember that day at States very well, and it's an exciting time, but make sure you boys stay focused on chopping down that time. Congrats to Mr. Morley as well on another great SBS track accomplishment to be notched onto his belt in the few years he's been there now. Keep up the hard work, Bears!
