This evening, Newsday high school blogger Bob Herzog weighed in on the top contenders for the Richard Sandler Award, an honor given to the best boys’ basketball player in each county. After listing his top ten contenders, Tim Pandolfi was mentioned among six other players as honorable mention candidates.

Pandolfi is currently 1st on Long Island in points per game average with 28, a full 2.1 points ahead of the 2nd-ranked players. He is also just 51 points shy of the 1,000 point milestone.
