The girls’ basketball team improved to 3-1 in League VIII this afternoon with a 50-25 win over visiting Southold. Jess Winston had a season-high 21 points as she drilled five 3-pointers and nearly achieved a double-double with 9 assists. Natalie Istrati added 11 points and 16 rebounds and Brannon Burke contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds. The Bears’ defense locked down the Settlers, holding their leading scorer to a mere 6 points.
