On this day 76 years ago…

The Blue and White football team finished 4-2-1 on the season with a 45-0 thrashing of Flatbush on Fitch Field. Jules Ward scored the opening touchdown on a reverse after a long catch by John Cather placed the ball at the 1-yard line. The Brook struck again in the second period as Everett Welch capped a 60-yard drive with a plunge into the end zone.

In the third period, the Blue and White seized control of the game when Welch fumbled the ball on an intended punt, recovered it, and ran 60 yards for the score. Later that quarter, Ivor Peterson, seeing his first action since his injury three weeks earlier vs. Garden City, scored the fourth touchdown for the Brook. With the game already in hand, the Brookers put an exclamation point on the contest by scoring three times in the fourth quarter, all courtesy of captain Alfred Van Ranst.
