Boys Soccer Takes Out the ‘Wogue

Lukas Alijosius (shown here vs. Greenport) scored the game-winner vs. Comsewogue

William Shakespeare wrote in Henry IV Part II, “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

This insight by the Bard was evident this morning as our boys’ soccer team met Comsewogue in a scrimmage. The Warriors have won the last two Class A State Championships, crowns that were of little consequence as they fell to our boys 1-0 in a playoff tune-up. The postseason-bound Warriors finished 2nd in League IV with an 8-4 record but could not overcome a scrappy goal by Lukas Alijosius.

Though this match did not count toward their record, it was an important victory for the Bears. After a 4-3 victorious debacle at the Ross School in their season finale, the Brook needed a reset as they head into their Class C semifinal match vs. Pierson on Wednesday November 3 @ 2:30pm.
