On Thursday, October 7, the girls’ cross country team enjoyed some great individual performances and a solid team showing at the Westhampton Beach Invitational. Two of our girls placed in the top 25 in a race that included over 100 competitors, while the team finished 5th out of 11 teams, some of which were from larger classes. Coach Heidi Nathan was very pleased with the results:
It was a gorgeous day and five of the girls ran about a minute or more faster on the course than they did a little over two weeks earlier. We had three girls PR in this 5k race. T-shirts were awarded to the top group of finishers, which six out of seven of the varsity squad received for this day.
The girls did fabulous and continue to work at pulling each other along to faster times together. I am very proud of how together they are pushing their speed and endurance to greater limits.
Here is how our girls fared:
| #13 | Margot Rashba | 21:58 | 0:36 PR |
| #24 | Kathy Kim | 23:09 | 0:08 PR |
| #28 | Ayana Aaron | 23:22 | – |
| #29 | Maria Paz Valenzuela | 23:31 | 0:36 PR |
| #68 | Aileen Catapano | 26:32 | – |
| #84 | Kriupa Samson | 28:35 | – |
| #90 | Colleen Higgins | 29:37 | – |
