Girls’ Soccer Sweeps Southold

The girls warm up before their match with Mercy on Monday

The girls’ soccer team won their fifth straight game, and second in a row, dismantling Southold, 3-0, on their own field–the second time this season that they beat the Settlers by a 3-0 margin. Freshman Hannah Barker got the scoring started by tallying her first career varsity goal. Michelle Hennessy added one goal in each half to help the Bears improve to 7-1 in League VIII. Danielle Pappas had 5 saves.

The Bears have a huge match-up at Smithtown Christian on Friday, October 15 @ 3:30pm, the outcome of which may determine the 2010 League VIII Champion.

Michelle Hennessy is currently tied for 9th on Long Island in points with 17 (5th in Suffolk County). She is also 6th on Long Island in goals with 13 (4th in Suffolk County).
