Anderson outruns two Phantoms on his way to a career day

On this day five years ago…

In a home game vs. Bayport-Blue Point on a rainy Saturday afternoon, Terrance Anderson had a remarkable day, torching the Phantoms for 236 rushing yards, the third-highest total in school history behind Anthony Passalacqua’s 242 vs. Babylon in 1998 and Kevin Lockerbie’s 240 vs. Friends Academy in 1976. Anderson remembered his incredible afternoon:

I remember the game. During half time Coach [Brad] Baker referred to it as the "Mud Bowl." It was definitely slick and we found it difficult to maneuver across the gridiron successfully. Coach Baker then told us to only run vertically, North to South; we followed suit, every time I ran I tried to make decisive cuts in order to keep the defense off balance.

The pattern of running resulted in running North full speed and making one hard, decisive cut when confronted by the opponent, and when another player would attempt to tackle me, I plowed with all my effort into their chests.
