Girls’ Cross Country

  • The Bears finished 16th out of 22 teams, and 3rd among small schools, in the Suffolk Coaches Invitational on Saturday. Miranda Harrigan was the Bears’ top finisher, placing 36th out of 158 runners in a time of 22:38.

Girls’ Soccer

  • The Bears were ranked 18th in Class C in the New York State Sportswriter’s Association poll that came out on Tuesday night.

Boys’ Soccer

  • The Bears nearly upset the 7th-ranked team in New York’s Class C on Thursday, but Southold clipped the boys with a late goal to win 2-1 and remain undefeated. The boys showed a lot of positives in the loss and should have plenty to build on for their next match.

Roar of the Week

Where we give the animal kingdom equivalent of a shout out.

On Thursday the girls’ swim team easily dispatched William Floyd. No one knew what to expect as the Bears entered the pool for the first time in a dozen years, but the girls gave the fans packed into the bleachers plenty to cheer about in a dominant win. It’s going to be exciting to watch this youthful group continue to get better over the course of this year and in the years to come.
